Don't miss our inspiring panel about the visions in Swedish cinema!

THERE ARE MANY questions to ask about the future of film in Sweden. How will the industry move forward in a cultural climate that is becoming increasingly digital and globalized? How do we produce and distribute films in a way that is more sustainable? What bureaucratic changes are taking place in the Swedish film industry, and how will they affect film production? 

In an attempt to answer these questions, we have invited a collection of influential and innovative people from the film industry. The discussion will be focused on future prospects and challenges for the Swedish film industry, and will bring up important issues such as equality, representation, artistic vision and financial support. The topics will be highly relevant for anyone and everyone in the film industry. You don’t want to miss it!

JOINING US FOR this panel are Anette Novak (CEO of SFI), Charlotta Denward (Head of Feature Films at SVT), Mattias Nohrborg (Head of Acquisition at Triart), Julia Finnsiö (freelance writer and film critic) and Tarik Saleh (writer-director). The event is moderated by journalist Hynek Pallas, and will be held in Swedish.

Anette Novak is  the CEO of the Swedish Film Institute. She has had a long and successful career within culture and media, working in several leadership positions before taking on her new role at SFI in April 2022.

Tarik Saleh is an award-winning screenwriter, director and producer. He is the co-founder of the production company Atmo, and has a long list of successful films to his name. His most recent film, »Boy From Heaven« (2022), is the Swedish nominee for Best International Feature at the 2023 Academy Awards.

Head of Feature Films, SVT

Charlotta Denward is the Head of Feature Films at SVT. She is the co-founder of the production company Avanti Film, and has held many important positions in the film industry for over twenty years.

Mattias Nohrborg
Head of Acqusitions, Triart

Mattias Nohrborg is the founder of and the Head of Acquisitions at Triart. He is a producer at B-Reel Films and has produced a number of films, including »I am Zlatan« (2021), »X&Y« (2018) and »Gentlemen« (2014).

Julia Finnsiö
Film Critic

Julia Finnsiö is a film critic at Svenska Dagbladet, and a freelance writer. She has a degree in Cinema Studies, and has published many articles about film in both SvD and FLM.

Hynek Pallas
Moderator

Hynek Pallas is  a freelance culture journalist, with a PhD in Cinema Studies. Pallak has been a film critic for several major Swedish newspapers, currently writing for Göteborgs-Posten and Expressen Kultur. He has worked as an editor for Bergmans Video (SVT), as a director and written several books on cinema.
